AYA Universe vs Theatre of Digital Art: Dubai immersive art compared

AYA Universe costs AED 135 on the official site and AED 94 to AED 94.50 on Rayna Tours and Headout. Theatre of Digital Art has no standing ticket: it sells tickets per show, concert or kids’ event, from AED 160 to AED 180, and our data tracks no reseller listing for it (prices read 2 and 3 November 2026). If you want something to walk into any day, AYA Universe is the one to book. If you want a dated evening with live music, look at the event list.

AYA Universe: what it is

AYA is a self-paced walk-through on level one of the main atrium at Wafi City, at the top of the escalators. The official site names 12 zones: The River, The Source, Harmonia, The Pool, Tides, Flora, The Falls, Celestia, Luna, Outland, Aurora and Drift. Examples from its own descriptions: The Falls is a waterfall you jump through that the site says defies gravity, Aurora makes cosmic portraits from your movements, and Celestia is a sea of glowing orbs that Wafi’s own page calls a ball pit. Rayna Tours’ listing puts the space at 40,000 square feet.

The official site gives hours of 10:00 to 22:00 from Sunday to Thursday and 10:00 to midnight on Friday and Saturday, with last entry an hour before closing. Wafi City’s shop listing and Rayna Tours’ page show 10:00 to 20:00 with last entry at 19:00, so check before planning an evening visit. Parking is at the Carrefour car park or Wafi valet, and the Green Line metro stops at Dubai Healthcare City, a 6 minute walk away.

AYA Universe tickets and prices

The official site sells through its ticketing partner, Fever, and the walk-in price is also AED 135. Its ticket types:

• Entry: AED 135 for one guest, any age. Children under 3 are free and collect a ticket at the customer service desk.
• Flex Pass: AED 175, visit any day within one week.
• Discover Pass: AED 225 for AYA plus House of Hype, valid 30 days, marked “Limited Time Only” and said to save AED 45 against buying separately.
• Family Pass: AED 399 for four guests of any age, said to save over AED 140. The page also says “Book 1 Day in Advance & Save 10% Direct”, and we could not tell how that applies.
• NOVA VIP: from AED 299 for 2 to 6 guests, with a guided tour.

Rayna Tours and Headout save about AED 41 against the official price. For four people, four Headout tickets cost AED 378 and four Rayna Tours tickets AED 376, both below the official Family Pass at AED 399 and well below four official tickets at AED 540. The Flex Pass costs AED 40 more than a dated ticket, so it only earns its price if you cannot fix a date. Check the live AYA Universe price table before booking.

Theatre of Digital Art: what it is and what it sells

Theatre of Digital Art, known as TODA, is a venue in Souk Madinat Jumeirah that describes every show, concert and event as a 360-degree immersive experience. It is open daily from 11:00 to 23:00. We found no daily walk-in digital art ticket: the event list on 3 November 2026 held eight events, all dated between 12 and 29 November.

• Kids’ shows at AED 170: Kids & Classics, Alice in Musical Wonderland (15 November, 11:00) and The Frog Prince (21 November, 11:00), plus two children’s musicals with Russian titles, The Wizard of Oz (15 November, 14:00) and Scheherazade’s Tales (28 November, 12:00).
• A play at AED 160: a mystery thriller with a Russian title (12 November, 20:00).
• Concerts at AED 180: La Dolce Vita 360° with That’s Amore Band (22 November), Baroque & Beyond by UAE Philharmonic Orchestra Soloists (28 November) and a tribute to Amy Winehouse (29 November), all at 20:00.

Our 2 November data had four of these events at AED 160 to 170. The three concerts at AED 180 appeared when we read the site again on 3 November. Each price is a “from” price for the cheapest seat category, so the adult and child split is not shown. Tickets link out from toda.ae to another ticketing site, and Headout’s page for a Banksy exhibition at the venue (40 minutes, ages 3 and up) said “This experience is unavailable” on 3 November. How long to allow

AYA says 60 to 90 minutes on its ticket. For Theatre of Digital Art the event pages we read gave no running time, so our data’s 60 to 90 minutes is an estimate and each show will differ. Plan the day around the start time, because entry is for a scheduled event.

Best for kids, couples and photos

• Kids: AYA has one price at every age and a self-paced visit, but the ball pit needs a height of 1 m and socks. Theatre of Digital Art’s Kids & Classics shows are for ages 3 and up, children under 12 need an adult, and children are asked to stay seated.
• Couples: AYA stays open until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Theatre of Digital Art’s concerts start at 20:00 and cost from AED 180.
• Photos: AYA’s zones are the same every day, so you can plan around them. At Theatre of Digital Art the visuals change by event. Neither venue’s photography rules were on the pages we read, so ask on arrival.
• Light sensitivity: AYA warns about flashing lights, loud noise and dark spaces. It is not suited to guests sensitive to them.

Where teamLab fits

If the two Dubai options feel small, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is the bigger immersive museum. The official ticket is AED 155 (Headout AED 135 on 2 November), and the site advises 1.5 to 3 hours, against AYA’s 60 to 90 minutes. The drive from Dubai is about 135 km, roughly 1 hour 15 minutes in normal traffic by one rental company’s estimate. Which should you choose?

• Most visitors, any day: AYA Universe at AED 94 to AED 94.50 on Rayna Tours or Headout.
• Families of four: four Headout or Rayna Tours AYA tickets (AED 376 to AED 378), unless the official Family Pass at AED 399 gets its 10 percent saving (we could not confirm that). Skip Theatre of Digital Art unless a Kids & Classics date suits.
• Couples: AYA on a Friday or Saturday night, or a Theatre of Digital Art concert if the programme appeals.
• Photos: AYA, because the zones are the same on every visit (our judgement).
• Live music in a 360-degree room: Theatre of Digital Art, from AED 180 per concert.
• If your plans might change: the AED 175 Flex Pass, because Headout’s and Rayna Tours’ tickets cannot be changed.
