Is the Go City Dubai pass worth it? The break-even maths

Mostly no. The Explorer 3 pass costs AED 768, and the three priciest first-timer sights cost about AED 500 as single tickets. A Go City Dubai pass only wins if you do four or more big theme parks, or nine paid attractions in three days. Prices below were checked on 30 October 2026.

What the passes cost

Go City sells Dubai passes in US dollars, not dirhams. The AED figures convert the dollar price at 3.6725, so your card may add its own exchange fee. The last column is the break-even: the average single-ticket price your plan has to beat.

Children aged 3 to 12 pay less: Explorer 4 is AED 878 for a child. Adults are 13 and over.

Explorer or All-Inclusive

Explorer counts attractions. You buy 3 to 10 choices from 64 attractions and pick them as you go. Once you scan in at the first one, you have 30 days to use the rest.

All-Inclusive counts days. You buy 2 to 10 days and visit as many of its 48 attractions as you like on each day, spread across a two-week window. Go City says each day ends at midnight, whatever time you start.

Both stay valid for a year before first use, and an unactivated pass is refundable within 90 days of buying. The Dhow Royal Dinner Cruise is on Explorer but not All-Inclusive. Essentials is the smallest pass: one premium pick (Aquaventure, Burj Khalifa, IMG Worlds, MOTIONGATE or Ferrari World Abu Dhabi) plus two of 15 top attractions.

The included attractions that clear AED 195 as single tickets are the three theme parks, Aquaventure, the Dubai Aquarium and Ski Dubai. Explorer 10 needs ten tickets averaging AED 194, so the bigger Explorer passes rarely pay off.

The first-timer loses by a mile

Even the three priciest first-timer sights (Dubai Aquarium, Burj Khalifa, The View) total AED 503, against AED 768 for Explorer 3. If you priced the five sights at Go City’s own “without a pass” figures, they come to about AED 695, still AED 440 short of Explorer 5. The family loses too

The family prices children at the adult rate wherever we have no child price, apart from the Dubai Frame. That flatters the pass, and LEGOLAND charges children the adult price from age 3, yet the pass still loses. The pass works out at AED 233 a ticket across the 16 tickets. If Aquaventure is AED 360 rather than AED 270, the gap narrows to AED 335.

The theme-park trip is the only close call

How you buy the singles decides the result. Here is the same four-park trip against Explorer 4 (AED 988):

Dubai Parks sells a same-day Two Park ticket at AED 355 on the official site, which undercuts two single tickets by AED 175 to 235. See the Dubai Parks and Resorts ticket guide before you buy. At an Aquaventure price of AED 360, the last four rows move AED 90 in the pass’s favour.

All-Inclusive is harder still. A three-day pass needs AED 537 of tickets a day. Two parks in one day (MOTIONGATE and LEGOLAND, AED 530 as singles) barely reach it.

What is closed, seasonal or missing

• Museum of the Future has been closed since the start of September 2026, with reopening targeted for the first quarter of 2027 and no date yet. It was not on Go City’s list of 64 Dubai attractions on 30 October. See what to do instead.
• Dubai Miracle Garden is seasonal: season 15 runs from 8 October 2026 to 31 May 2027, 09:00 to 21:00. The pass needs a reservation 24 hours ahead. Prices are in the Miracle Garden guide.
• Global Village opened for the season on 14 October 2026 and runs to May 2027. Tuesdays are reserved for ladies, couples and families, except on public holidays. The pass needs a reservation 24 hours ahead. Read the Global Village guide.
• Dubai Parks closed from 25 to 29 October. From 1 November MOTIONGATE runs 11:00 to 20:00 on weekdays and 11:00 to 21:00 on weekends, so a weekday park day is nine hours.
• Five tours on Go City’s own list carried a “Temporarily closed” tag on 30 October: two Caravanserai desert experiences, two kayak tours and a stand-up paddle tour. None is in our price tables.
• Not in the pass at all: Aura Skypool, the Ain Dubai wheel, Wild Wadi, The Green Planet, Dubai Safari Park, AYA Universe and Real Madrid World.

Rules that change the maths

• Burj Khalifa on the pass is the levels 124 and 125 ticket only, with no SKY level 148. It is walk-up, so the pass saves nothing against a AED 189 ticket.
• Ski Dubai on the pass is the higher Snow Plus tier. Comparing it with the cheaper Snow Classic ticket understates the pass.
• Dubai Frame, The View at The Palm, Miracle Garden, Global Village and the Butterfly Garden need a Go City booking about 24 hours ahead.
• Dhow cruise changes must be made at least 6 hours before, or the pass is not refunded or rebooked.

How to decide in five minutes

1. List the attractions you will actually enter, then price each at the cheapest single ticket.
2. Divide the pass price by its number of choices. If your tickets average less, skip the pass.
3. For parks, check the Two Park ticket first.
4. Count days, not sights, for All-Inclusive. It needs AED 537 or more a day.
5. Run your list through the Go City pass calculator, which uses today’s cheapest prices.
6. For a short trip, book singles from the full Dubai price list.
