On 3 November 2026 you cannot book a dated Jais Flight or Jais Sky Tour. The official booking system sells only non-refundable gift certificates: AED 489 for the Flight with a camera and AED 399 for the Sky Tour. The Jais Sledder is marked temporarily closed and is walk-in only, with no published price. The Via Ferrata Standard Route at AED 325 is the one headline activity with open dates, and no date for the 2026/27 season has been published.

We checked the official Visit Jebel Jais pages and booking calendar, Visit Ras Al Khaimah, Tiqets and Headout on 3 November 2026. Where they disagree, we say so. Toro Verde’s website would not load for us, so nothing here rests on it.
What closed means this season
- Booking calendar: the Flight showed only the gift certificate on 21 November, 5 December 2026 and 13 February 2027. The Sky Tour showed only its certificate on 7 November, 5 December and 10 January 2027. The Night Flight and Zipline Combo categories listed nothing on 5 December.
- Season page: it still describes the 2025/26 season as running through April 2026, and its summer posts (years not shown) say the mountain paused and will welcome visitors back once the weather cools. It gives no 2026/27 date.
- Sellers: Tiqets marks the Flight out of season with no tickets, and Headout shows it unavailable.
- No notice on the activity pages: only the Sledder carries a closure notice. We call the Flight closed because nothing can be booked.
- Weather risk: Jebel Jais shut after heavy rain in December 2025. The Flight was set to reopen on 31 January 2026 and the Sky Tour on 18 February. Gulf News reported the mountain closed again on 24 March 2026, until further notice, for unstable weather.
Jais Flight: the headline zipline
The Flight is a single 2.83 km span starting at 1,680 m above sea level. Visit Jebel Jais gives a top speed of 160 km/h on its activity page and blog, while its FAQ and Visit RAK say 150 km/h.
The AED 489 certificate includes a camera. Visit Jebel Jais and Visit RAK pages say the Flight starts from AED 325 depending on season, and Visit RAK adds AED 150 for camera hire, but neither page is dated. Tiqets lists AED 399.
Riders must weigh 40 to 120 kg. The height minimum is 122 cm on the Visit Jebel Jais FAQ and 130 cm on Visit RAK and Headout, and Headout caps weight at 100 kg. No official minimum age is published. Under 18s need a parent or guardian waiver, and one Visit Jebel Jais blog lists 12. Bring a passport or Emirates ID and closed shoes. Listed hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 09:30 to 16:00, and UAE public holidays. See the Jais Flight page.
Jais Sky Tour: six ziplines, about two hours
The Sky Tour covers about 5 km on six ziplines at up to 60 km/h, and Visit Jebel Jais calls it family-friendly without giving an age. A 2022 Visit RAK promotion lists a 100 kg limit for the Sky Tour, against 120 kg for the Flight, so treat that as dated. Last season it ran Wednesday to Sunday and on public holidays at 09:30, 11:30 and 14:00.
Our data also showed an AED 999 family package (two adults, two children under 16, with an AED 200 Puro voucher) bookable on 31 October. We could not find it on 3 November. See the Sky Tour page.
Jais Sledder: closed, no price
The Sledder is a mountain toboggan ride of about 8 minutes at up to 40 km/h. The official page says it is temporarily closed, with walk-ins only, no bookings and no price. It gives no reopening date. Gulf News reported a closure in January 2025 with no date then either, so treat any reopening as unannounced. See the Sledder page.
Via Ferrata: the one with dates
The Standard Route, AED 325 on the Bear Grylls Explorers Camp booking calendar, was bookable on 10 November, 14 November and 5 December 2026 but not on 7 or 13 November. It starts with an easy to moderate uphill walk, then climbs fixed cables and steps, crosses a 40 m Burma bridge and ends on a short zipline and a 280 m zipline.
An older Visit Jebel Jais page sets the limits at 18 and over, or 12 to 17 with a guardian and waiver, 40 to 120 kg and at least 122 cm. It lists three routes of 1.5 to 4 hours priced AED 130 to 275 by season, which does not match the calendar, so trust the calendar. Camp activities on 5 December included archery and axe throwing at AED 60, a ropes course at AED 100 and climbing from AED 65. See the Via Ferrata page.
Where the sources disagree
- Flight speed: 160 km/h on the Visit Jebel Jais activity page and blog, 150 km/h on its FAQ and Visit RAK.
- Flight height limit: 122 cm on the FAQ, 130 cm on Visit RAK and Headout.
- Weight limit: 120 kg on the FAQ, 100 kg on Headout, and 100 kg for the Sky Tour in the 2022 Visit RAK terms.
- Flight price: AED 489 for the certificate with camera, AED 399 on Tiqets and “from AED 325” on undated pages.
- Via Ferrata price: AED 325 on the booking calendar, AED 130 to 275 on the older page.
When two figures conflict, the rule printed on your own ticket is the one the staff will apply.
Which should you pick?
- The big flight: wait for dated Flight tickets. Nothing else here matches 2.83 km.
- Families with children: the Sky Tour, which is slower, though it has a weight limit and no published minimum age. Confirm both before you book.
- A trip this month: the Via Ferrata, plus the viewing deck and camp activities.
- The Sledder: do not plan around it.
- A gift certificate: it is non-refundable and must be used for an online booking, and no dates are open. Buy one only as a gift or if you accept that risk.
Doing the Flight and Sky Tour together means about 3 hours on the mountain.
Getting there from Dubai
Visit RAK puts Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah at about 1 hour 15 minutes on the E311 and 1 hour 25 minutes on the E611. The official FAQ says the mountain is about 45 minutes beyond RAK city, so allow 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours, which Visit Jebel Jais quotes. Its day-trip guide says 2 to 2.5 hours. The road is paved and a normal car is fine, but there is no fuel on the mountain road.
Buses from Dubai stop in RAK city, and a taxi from there takes 30 to 40 minutes. RAKTA’s Yellow Route shuttle from Al Hamra and Marjan Island (AED 15 return, Friday to Sunday) was scheduled from 28 November 2025 to the end of April 2026. We could not confirm it returns.
If the Flight is still closed
- Book the Via Ferrata or a camp activity.
- Enter the Jais Viewing Deck Park for AED 10 including VAT. It opens 08:00 to 20:00 Sunday to Thursday and until 23:00 on Friday and Saturday.
- Walk one of the six hiking trails, 16 km in all, per Visit RAK.
- Check your date on the booking calendar first. A bookable activity shows an Available label and a Book Now button, as the Via Ferrata did. A Buy Gift Certificate line means no dated tickets.
- Call before you drive. Visit RAK’s terms give the call centre as +971 4 815 7333, and weather can close the mountain at short notice.
